College of Medicine Commencement Ceremony

The Whiddon College of Medicine's Class of 2024 will be recognized at the Academic Hooding ceremony held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., and the university commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. Both events will be held in the Mitchell Center. The Class of 2024 is the 49th class to graduate from the College of Medicine.

The Whiddon College of Medicine's Academic Hooding Ceremony is a spring event where graduates of the Basic Medical Science and M.D. programs are recognized individually and have the opportunity to walk the stage. M.D. graduates will choose a family member to don their hood, while Basic Medical Science graduates will be hooded by their major professor. The military commission ceremony of the M.D. graduates will follow.

The University of South Alabama Commencement Ceremony will celebrate graduates and confer their degrees from the Whiddon College of Medicine and other colleges at the university. Graduates present at the ceremony will be announced and walk the stage. M.D. graduates will receive their diploma. Basic Medical Science graduates will receive their diploma cover at the ceremony, and their diploma will be sent via mail.
