Allied Health Student Organizations
Student organizations at the University exist as an integral part of the total educational experience, and there are many opportunities for allied health students to get involved. There are a variety of student organizations available to students who are interested in pursuing degrees in biomedical sciences, emergency medical services, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, radiology sciences, speech pathology and audiology. These organizations are committed to peer mentorship, community service, career planning, networking, preparation for graduate school and so much more.
The mission of Alpha Epsilon Delta is to encourage and recognize excellence in premedical scholarship; to stimulate an appreciation of the importance of premedical education; to promote communication between medical and premedical students and educators; to provide a forum for students with common interests; and to use its resources to benefit health organizations, charities and the community.

ASBMB Student Chapters are a national community of undergraduate students and faculty across the United States. Membership to ASBMB offers exciting professional opportunities such as tuition scholarships, research funding, travel awards to national meetings and community outreach. The goal of ASBMB is to bring together students majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, and biotechnology, as well as any other University of South Alabama students interested in membership, through peer mentorship, educational seminars, career planning and networking.

The Biomedical Sciences Society is a student organization developed to promote community service, provide information on careers in biomedical sciences, and to promote interactions between students and faculty in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and other majors within the University of South Alabama. The BMD Society is involved in providing university services, community services and social activities. Membership is open to all interested students regardless of major.

The Radiologic Sciences Club is designed for students who are exploring their options and want to learn more about radiologic sciences, as well as for students who are currently enrolled in the radiologic sciences program. The Pre-Dental Society is a club for all students who are both currently on the Pre-Dental track or are interested in dentistry as a career path. We host a variety of meetings including having local dentists come speak, hosting suturing clinics, application workshops, DAT workshops and much more! We strive to provide many resources to help you ace the Dental Admission Test (DAT) and apply to dental school.

The Pre-OT Club is designed for students who are exploring their options and want to learn more about occupational therapy, as well as students who are already planning to study occupational therapy in graduate school. This student organization will allow you to learn more about occupational therapy and meet other students interested in the field. You will have the opportunity to network with current South Alabama OT students as well as the faculty and staff in the Department of Occupational Therapy. You will also get hands-on learning experience in club meetings and have the opportunity to serve others in the community through service projects. This organization will help prepare you to be a competitive applicant to OT school.
