Coping with Anxiety in COVID-19
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The CDC provides information about stress and coping in response to the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Specific resources for communities, families and children, and first responders are included, as well as telephone and text contact information for the disaster distress helpline.
Mental Health America (MHA)
MHA offers a range of resources and information (including, but not limited to, services related to mental health, financial support, and immediate response to COVID-19) to aid individuals and communities during this time. Resources are also provided for a number of specialized populations, including mental health providers, parents and caregivers, older adults, and domestic violence survivors.
University of South Alabama (USA)
USA has compiled a list of community resources, as well as the COVID-19 hotline for the states of Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi. The resource list includes general information, as well as information related to social services, meals, and specific services for students, seniors, and families with young children to alleviate stress and anxiety associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
World Health Organization (WHO)
The WHO released a statement on 6 March 2020 discussing mental health considerations during COVID-19 outbreak. The statement includes information and advice for the general population, healthcare workers, caretakers, and people in isolation related to healthy and adaptive coping with and responding to the current crisis, including strategies for reducing anxiety and stress.

Dealing with Social Isolation
American Psychological Association (APA)
The APA published an informational article discussing social distancing. The article includes insights from psychologists on how to separate yourself from others while still getting the social support you need. It focuses on what to expect, how to cope, and what happens next, and also includes links to additional tools and resources.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
SAMHSA provides tips for social distancing during an infectious disease outbreak. Information is provided related to social distancing, quarantine, and isolation, as well as typical reactions and ways to support yourself. In addition, sources for reliable outbreak-related information and links to other helpful resources are provided.

Child Mind Institute
The Child Mind Institute provides a new daily video tip for supporting families and children during this time. Additionally, the website provides resources for telehealth and assessments, how to speak to children about the COVID-19 crisis, managing their anxiety, physical health, self-care, school routine, discipline, etc.

This website provides a list of free virtual educational tools for children and caregivers broken down by age groups.
Child Trends
This website provides a list of national websites for speaking with children about COVID-19 based on their ages, support for families, access to telehealth, and self-care for parents who are abruptly staying at home with their children daily.
Mobile County Public Schools
The Mobile County Public Schools website has up to date announcements regarding school closures, as well as numerous links to support at home learning, self-care, and community resources in Mobile, AL for families during this time.
