Apply for Services

The USA Psychological Clinic requires an application for all services. All applications go into an applicant pool, and applications are selected based on the needs of our training clinic.

An assistant director will contact you by phone at the number on your application, after reviewing your application, to learn more about your needs and goals and to be certain that our clinic is a good fit for you.  At the time of your application, we suggest you also contact local resources if you are in immediate need.

Local Resources: AltaPointe (251) 450-2211, LifeLines (251) 692-0909

Important information about our clinic:

The USA Psychology is a training clinic for advanced graduate students in the USA Clinical and Counseling Doctoral Program.   We cannot guarantee an appointment to any applicant. Applications are selected based on graduate clinician training needs and supervisors expertise.

We do not offer 24/7 crisis services at our clinic.  If you feel unsafe, call 911 or go to your local emergency room.  Another option is to call a suicide hotline, such as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988.

If you are a USA student and in crisis, University Counseling and Testing Services offers walk-in crisis services during weekday business hours (8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, 300 Student Center Circle) or call 251-460-7051. During non-business hours, contact the University Police at (251) 460-6312 and they will notify the on-call counselor as appropriate.

Important information about your application:

Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. All applications are kept confidential.

We require:

  • A legal guardian to complete the application for any minors under the age of 14 years, and attend the initial session with the minor
  • A contact name for the doctor or agency if you were referred to the Psychology Clinic
  • Your deadline for services, if applicable

We are not currently accepting:

  • Applications for psychological evaluations for custody, legal proceedings, fitness for duty, or competency
  • Requests for medications management and/or prescribing medications

Applications will be reviewed for fit with available clinicians/supervisors and kept open for a period of six months. Due to the nature of a training clinic, not all applications will be accepted for services.

Apply online

To be considered for services in our clinic please click “Apply Online” above. The following screens will take you to an application based on your (or your child’s) age. The application asks many questions about your (or your child’s) life, needs, and current difficulties. This information helps us understand your need, match you with an appropriate provider, and plan the services.

If you are unable to access our online application, please call us at (251)460-7149 to set an appointment with a clinic assistant who will assist you in our clinic.

The USA Psychology Clinic is a training clinic and offers very low fees for services. You will be asked about your monthly income on the application, and tax returns will be requested to process any fee reductions. It is important to remember that:

  • We only accept applications with all forms completed
  • We do not review applications immediately
  • Not all applications will be selected for services

I completed an application for services, what's next?

Applications are typically processed within a week of completion, at which time you will be contacted to discuss whether or not you have been accepted into our waiting pool, what your fees for services will be, and to  answer any questions you may have. Our staff will attempt to contact you two times through the phone number provided on your application. If we are unable to reach you to confirm your needs, your application will be closed.
