Introduction to Abstract Algebra

Course description: An introduction to the fundamental concepts of modern algebra such as groups, rings, and fields through concrete examples. This course is designed for graduate students in the College of Education and Professional Studies.
Prerequisites:  C or better in MA 413 or permission of the instructor

Learning outcomes: Upon the successful completion of the course a student will:

gain a deep understanding of the fundamental concepts of modern abstract algebra
become skilled at understanding definitions and statements of theorems, formulating conjectures and analyzing them critically.
gain experience in solving problems and communicating mathematical ideas effectively.
