Biography

I am an assistant professor in the Mathematics Department at University of South Alabama. I received my Ph.D. degree from USC in 2012 under the supervision  of Dr. Robert Guralnick. My main research focus lies within the realms of graph theory and group theory, although I’ve had my encounters with number theory, ring theory and orderable groups.

I like to play with Bernie and Albert, cook, play chess, handball, and soccer.

Research Interests

  • (Finite) Group Theory - Mainly permutation groups and the action of derangements in primitive permutation groups.

  • Ring Theory - Maximal commutative subrings of matrices.

  • Graph Theory - Linkless embeddings of graphs and their complements.

  • Gerrymandering - The mathematics of social choice
