Campus Resources
Career Development provides programming to support a student’s career planning, including resume services, interview preparation, internship support and job shadowing opportunities. Career Development also manages Handshake, USA’s platform to connect students, alumni and employers. Handshake allows students the opportunity to research and apply for on and off campus job opportunities.
The University of South Alabama Counseling and Testing Services provides confidential, free counseling and crisis intervention services. These services are open to all eligible USA students.
The Dean of Students Office is a central point for student concerns. The staff work to facilitate the retention, academic progress and graduation success of all our students. The Dean of Students programming includes student activities, multicultural student support, student disability services, counseling and testing, and more.
The Jag Pantry provides short-term relief for students experiencing food insecurity and strives to ensure they feel valued, respected, and supported during this hardship.
The Jag Pantry is located in Meisler Hall - Room 2130.
Student Academic Success (SAS) supports the mission of the University by developing, implementing, and assessing initiatives and practices to ensure your students success. SAS houses Academic Advising and Transfer Services and the Center for Academic Excellence, which offers individual and small group tutoring as well as writing consultations for courses in any discipline.
The University of South Alabama Student-Run Free Clinic (USA SRFC) is student-led initiative with the purpose of enhancing wellness amongst underserved populations in Mobile, Alabama. Through the USA SRFC, students across multiple health and social science disciplines collaborate to empower patients through health education, the promotion of health literacy, and improving access to community health resources. The clinic aims to provide experiential learning for students to practice clinical and communication skills, while also improving sensitivity to vulnerable populations and promoting a lifelong commitment to service.
The mission of the University of South Alabama Psychological Clinic is to provide professional, low cost mental health services to the Mobile community. These services include individual, family, group, and couples therapy.

2-1-1 helps Alabamians looking for help with everyday needs? 2-1-1 can connect students to health and human service organizations in our community and can provide alternative housing options.
AltaPointe accepts most major commercial insurance, as well as, All Kids, Medicaid, and Medicare. They also provide services to those who are uninsured, depending on the individual's symptoms and needs. For patients who meet the criteria, financial assistance and/or a reduced fee schedule may be available. Please call (251) 450-2211 or (888) 335-3044 for information on all of their programs and services.

The Emergency Assistance Ministry provides limited financial and material assistance to families and individuals in times of crisis. Material assistance can be provided for food, clothing, furniture and appliances, household items, and personal hygiene items. Financial assistance is available for medicine, utilities, rent, and transportation.
Family Promise partners with congregations and civic groups to offer children and their families a safe place to sleep, and hope.
IHousing First, Inc. aims to secure resources and assets, through advocacy and community collaboration for those in need.
