Making the Most of Your Gradebook | Canvas Tips and Tricks | Thursday, October 6, 10:30am - 11:30am
Are you using your Canvas Gradebook to its fullest potential? Come find out at this Canvas training session. Participants will explore how to use the Canvas Gradebook to easily input and distribute grades for your students. You will also examine how the gradebook can serve as a communication tool and allow you to track the progress of your students throughout the semester.

Boost Student Motivation and Creativity via Alternative Assessments | Thursday, October 6, 1pm - 2pm
Alternative assessments give students more autonomy and creative license in how they show their mastery of the target discipline. What alternative assessment might work for you? Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to examine alternative assessment examples from our South Alabama faculty. We will also strategize how to design an alternative assessment that fits your course. 

Expert Tips on Writing Effective Letters of Recommendation | TBD
Letters of recommendation are an important part of a faculty member’s career, and our students’ future careers. Join our campus experts as they share tips on how to write an effective letter of recommendation for any application, such as scholarships or graduate school, in any discipline. 

GR8 EZ 2 Grade Final Exam Questions | Tuesday, November 8, 10am - 10:45am
Final exams are coming. Many instructors wish to know how much students have synthesized from their learning throughout the semester with a comprehensive assessment on the final. But - grading takes time! So, how do you balance easy to grade items with those that probe student thinking and learning about complex topics? Come to this workshop to get new ideas but also share with your colleagues a question type that has worked for you in the past.
