University of South Alabama Cybersecurity Program of Study

The BS in Information Technology Network Focus Track degree curriculum is aligned with the National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) knowledge units and was validated as an approved CAE Program of Study and designated as a National Center of Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) in May 2022. While the IT academic program consists of a foundation in computing with specialization areas in digital forensics, networking, and web publishing, students wishing to complete the approved cybersecurity program must declare their major as a BS in Information Technology with the Networking concentration. Information regarding the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree program is posted at USA ITE Program Objectives and Outcomes and ITE Program Requirements.

The School of Computing provides a wide variety of extracurricular activities to supplement their program of study. Students are encouraged to participate in the Student Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Jaguar Women in Technology (J-WIT), DayZero (a cybersecurity competition club), and the Video Game Development Club (VGDC). More information about student clubs is posted on the School of Computing's Student Organizations page.
