You can volunteer and serve in our community by using SOUTH SERVES, an online volunteer portal.
- Instructions and video tutorials for using SOUTH SERVES are available online.
- To learn what activities are eligible for volunteer hours in SOUTH SERVES, review the University's service guidelines.
- To search for and receive email updates about volunteer activities taking place on and off campus, create a SOUTH SERVES account.
▼ Post Volunteer Needs and Philanthropic Events on South Serves
Student organizations can use SOUTH SERVES to post their volunteer opportunities or philanthropic events and to track their members' service hours. To be eligible, these opportunities must benefit a community nonprofit organization, a governmental entity, or an academic institution. Email communityengagement@southalabama.edu for help:
- Creating or accessing your student organization “Agency” account
- Setting up or accessing your student organization “User Group”
- Learning about how to use your student organization “Agency” account and “User Group”
- Finding or planning group volunteer projects
- Determining whether your student organization’s volunteer opportunity is eligible for service hours
