Biography

Dr. Ryan Williams is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice at South. Dr. Williams earned his B.A. and A.B.J. in 2013 from the University of Georgia and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2015 and 2019. His research is in the field of American Politics, with particular interests in judicial politics, political communication, and American political development. Dr. Williams’ work has been published in journals including Justice System Journal and Journal of Political Science Education. He has taught a number of courses at the undergraduate level, including American Government, Political Parties and Elections, the U.S. Supreme Court, Intro to Criminal Justice, and Civil Rights and Liberties.  Dr. Williams also teaches in the Masters in Public Administration Program at South, and serves as the university’s pre-law advisor.
