As a Fish Biologist within the Advanced Technology and Innovation Branch of the FATES Division, you will support the research of fish biologists by assisting with the collection and processing of fish biological, environmental, and habitat data collected with various data collection platforms. Field & Lab Technician:
The Zerebecki lab (https://zerebeckir.wixsite.com/home) at the University of Louisiana Lafayette is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic,
and organized individual to participate in field, greenhouse and laboratory-based
research based in Louisiana freshwater and coastal wetland ecosystems. The Technician
will work in collaboration with PI Zerebecki, graduate and undergraduate students
to conduct research focused on: 1) ecological effects of genetic diversity within
coastal and wetland foundation plant species; 2) eco-evolutionary feedbacks in coastal
marshes; and 3) the impacts and responses of wetlands to changing environmental conditions.
We use a variety of techniques in our work including field surveys, field and greenhouse
experiments, and molecular analyses.
The main responsibilities of the position will be to conduct fieldwork (sometimes in arduous conditions) in a freshwater wetland system in Broussard, LA. In addition, the successful applicant will also:
- Lead field sampling in local wetlands/ coastal habitats and associated sample
processing in the lab - Conduct field, greenhouse, and laboratory experiments
- Oversee plant propagation and seed germination in the greenhouse
- Collect, organize, and maintain field, greenhouse, and laboratory data
- Travel (drive) to field sites in the region and occasionally stay overnight
- Conduct standard molecular assays including DNA extractions, and PCR,
- Assist with data analysis
- Help train and coordinate with lab personnel; supervise undergraduate workers
- Oversee general lab maintenance and purchasing

Seeking two Quantitative Fisheries Research Associates at the University of Massachusetts
Dartmouth’s School for Marine Science & Technology in New Bedford, Massachusetts,
USA.
The research will focus on climate integrated modeling to inform fishery resource
decision making in a changing Northeast U.S. shelf ecosystem. The successful candidates
will work to support the Northeast Climate Integrated Modeling Initiative (NCLIM), and NOAA’s Climate, Ecosystem, and Fisheries Initiative (CEFI). This will include statistical modeling and fisheries data science research, simulation
testing of ecosystem-based fisheries management procedures, and evaluating integration
of climate forecasting products into fisheries management.

The Pacific Marine Mammal Center rescues, rehabilitates, and releases marine mammals
and inspires ocean stewardship through research, education, and collaboration. As
part of our mission of education, we offer a one-year clinical veterinary internship, with the possibility of a second year for
a veterinary fellowship or collaborative master’s degree program. This program provides training in marine mammal and wildlife medicine, rehabilitation,
husbandry, necropsy, and research for veterinarians interested in pursuing a career
in marine mammal medicine, conservation, and research.
The veterinary intern will be trained by our clinical veterinarians, medical team,
and animal care specialists. This veterinary internship will provide experience in
pinniped husbandry, physical examination, medical treatments, anesthesia, phlebotomy,
radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy and surgery. In addition, the selected candidate
will participate in marine mammal stranding response, triage, stabilization, transport
and necropsy of pinnipeds and cetaceans.
The intern will have the opportunity to pursue one or more clinical or research projects,
with the goal of presentation at a professional conference and a publication in a
peer-reviewed journal. In addition, the intern will mentor veterinary externs and
visiting graduate students during their clinical rotations through the Pacific Marine
Mammal Center, as well as work with our animal care volunteers, docents, and education
teams.
Requirements and Preferences
• Must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD) from U.S. AVMA accredited veterinary
school
• Must have or be able to obtain a State of California veterinary medical license
prior to or within 1 month of starting internship
• Must have previous experience as a veterinarian; preferred completion of a one-year
clinical veterinary internship (or equivalent general practice experience) in small,
large or exotic animal medicine

Full-time Lecturer in One Health beginning Fall 2025
The Environmental Studies Program at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a full-time, 9-month teaching track position at the rank of Lecturer in the area of One Health to begin in the fall semester of the 2025-26 academic year. A demonstrated interest in teaching at the undergraduate level as well as experience with current scientific teaching approaches is required. The applicant should be highly motivated to instruct, inspire, and mentor students early in their university experience. The Environmental Studies Program integrates the natural and social sciences and humanities to provide interdisciplinary environmental training to undergraduate students. The university is committed to scholarship, teaching, and mentoring around environment and public health, including through Tyson Research Center, the Living Earth Collaborative, the recently launched Center for Environment, a new undergraduate program in Public Health & Society, and a new School of Public Health.
Responsibilities of this position include teaching an introductory course in One Health, an advanced course in environmental field methods, a capstone course in One Health, and co-leading a new Ampersand Program in One Health for a small cohort of first-year students. There is an opportunity to develop a course in local natural history or other topics of interest if desired. Job Summary:
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) Biologist II is responsible for supervising wildlife or fisheries management areas. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

The USDA-ARS National Sedimentation Laboratory in Oxford, MS seeks an Interdisciplinary Scientist (Postdoctoral Research Associate) to study agroecological and economic impacts of a novel edible cover crop system in a food insecure region of the southeast USA. The scientist will participate in a plot study evaluating edible and non-edible cover crop varieties, in addition to ongoing field-scale research projects as part of the Lower Mississippi River Basin (LMRB) Long-term Agroecosystem Research (LTAR) Network. The scientist will assist with collecting and analyzing several types of environmental, agronomic, and/or economic data to assess agroecosystem dynamics and conduct a tradeoff analysis. Modeling tools may be utilized to extrapolate or evaluate results and may be applied to broader regional studies as part of the LMRB LTAR project. Collaboration in community and producer focus groups is also possible in this project.
Research will primarily 1) improve understanding of management strategies to improve soil health, water quality, and agronomic outputs, 2) provide actionable guidance in cover crop management for Mississippi farmers, and 3) result in peer-reviewed manuscripts and presentations at local and national conferences.

The Research Specialist I, II or III fulfilling this position plays an essential role
in the operations of the Coastal Ecosystem Processes Lab group at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies. The Coastal Ecosystem
Processes Lab conducts basic and applied research on coastal phytoplankton ecology,
water quality and biogeochemistry. We are a diverse group consisting of research scientists,
postdocs, graduate and undergraduate students, and community volunteers. The person
filling this position will serve as the Laboratory Manager and will also be responsible
for analysis of water samples obtained by the research group.
Essential job duties include:
• Manages all activities in the laboratory to ensure project success and lab safety.
• Performs analysis of nutrients, organic matter, and other water quality parameters
using established benchtop chemistry methods, including operating instruments such
as a Seal Quaatro segmented flow nutrient analyzer, a Shimadzu TOC-LN analyzer, and
a Turner Trilogy fluorometer among others.
• QA/QC and transfer of data from lab analyses to Data Manager.
• Develop and maintain training materials for lab members.

DESCRIPTION: The James C. Kennedy Waterfowl and Wetlands Conservation Center at Clemson
University is recruiting a highly motivated Wildlife Biologist with an interest in
waterfowl and wetland ecology, management, and outreach in a research setting. The
ideal candidate should be familiar with wetlands and waterfowl issues, especially
in the southeast U.S. region. Responsibilities include assisting undergraduate and
graduate students and staff on a diversity of research projects, collecting field
and laboratory data, conducting literature reviews, maintaining vehicles, equipment,
and research instruments, data entry, and other duties necessary to maintain a functioning
center. The candidate will also contribute to research proposals and publications
in a highly dynamic, collaborative environment. This role involves working in various
outdoor environments, often in remote locations and requires a commitment to conserving
and managing wetland and wildlife habitats.
The position is initially budgeted for 1 year with the expectation that the position
will continue based on our success in obtaining external funding.
We are seeking an exceptional candidate with a strong interest in waterfowl and other
wetland wildlife (i.e., waterbirds, songbirds, turtles, alligators, anurans), macroinvertebrates,
wetland vegetation, and wetland management. Candidates must possess excellent wildlife
and vegetation identification skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in
one or more of the following areas: GIS, telemetry, duck banding, drone operation
and licensure, field surveys, modeling, and statistical analyses using R. The selected
candidate will be integral to the development of new projects, ensuring the continuity
of ongoing initiatives and publishing results. We are committed to providing ample

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. in wildlife ecology or related field. Previous experience
in wildlife research, fieldwork, or conservation projects. Proficiency in using field
equipment and technology. Physical fitness and stamina to perform fieldwork. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. We strongly value individuals who can work
independently and as part of a diverse team. A valid driver’s license and reliable
transportation is required.
SALARY: $31,600 - $45,000/year plus benefits, depending on experience.

Partners for Environmental Progress (PEP) is seeking a part-time Project Coordinator to improve the water quality and fish habitat in the waters of coastal Alabama by coordinating all facets of the Eagle Reef Project.
The position will be responsible for project coordination for the purposes of installing oyster “mini” reefs within the Alabama coastal waters. The Project Coordinator will report to the Executive Director and work with the staff and Board of Directors to develop and execute aspects of the project, including communications, serving as liaison with the Science Committee and fundraising. Deploying 1000 Eagle Reefs will result in filtering up to 7.3 billion gallons of water annually and create habitats that result in thousands of fish and crabs per year in our coastal waters.
This is a part-time (15-20 hours per week) position. Students are encouraged to apply (preferably graduate students or Junior/Seniors). Most working hours will be between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and will require occasional early morning, evening meetings and weekend work. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Excellent organization and communication skills are required. Marine or environmental science knowledge is beneficial, but not required.
