The University of South Alabama Requirements for Graduate School
The National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accredits all teacher education programs in the College of Education. The academic requirements for admission to the program include:
- A passing score on the Alabama Educator Certification Testing Program (AECTP/CORE)
- A passing score on the Praxis General Science test.
- The pre-requisite coursework for an Academic major in any science or engineering program or 32 semester hours / 19 in upper division in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology or Composite Science courses.
All students interested in the PTS program MUST apply for and gain admission to the Graduate School prior to the fall semester. Please refer to the website below for further instructions on the application process.
