Letter From Your President

Welcome Jags!

I have the honor of serving as the University of South Alabama’s SGA President. I chose South Alabama because both of my parents are proud alumni of the university. I have been attending football games, and going to countless events as long as I can remember. My parents being graduates of the university only influenced me to go to South even more. South Alabama has become my home away from home, where I have met my very best friends, and a university that has brought the best out of me in academics, and a calling to leadership. Throughout my time at South I have been involved in the Student Government Association as a Senator, Homecoming Committee Chair, and the Director of Athletic Relations. All of those opportunities have gotten me where I am today as SGA President.

The atmosphere of South Alabama is a place like no other. The smaller aspect of the university makes it feel very family oriented and everyone has a sense of belonging. The professors and faculty at South truly want to see you succeed in many ways. All of the faculty, and professors have become some of my closest friends and mentors. I am so grateful to have made such valuable connections to many of the staff on campus.

Mobile is also a city full of history. From the birthplace of Mardi Gras, Senior Bowl, historic downtown, the USS Alabama Battleship, and now the place to be on Saturday for college football games with a brand new on campus stadium, the city and campus have some much to offer. South Alabama is a university where traditions are still being created which means each and every student's opinions are valued and taken into consideration. My goal as South Alabama’s SGA President is to put each and every student first. The students are the heartbeat of this university, and in every initiative I accomplish throughout this year the students are my main focus.

I am so excited to be your SGA President, and I encourage you to come by the SGA Office which can be found right across from the Student Center Ballroom in Suite 214. We would love to talk about any ideas during your time here at the University. Please join us weekly on Monday nights where the student body can speak up on what could enhance the student experience. Please reach out if there is anything we can assist you with to better your South experience. GO JAGS!
