Drop & Go allows residents to arrive to campus before Traditional Move-In and
ONLY PLACE THEIR ITEMS inside their assigned room.

The number of available appointments on each day are limited, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Residents can choose from one (1) hour from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM on one of the following dates:

  • Saturday, August 10th, 2024
  • Sunday, August 11, 2024
▼   HOW TO SIGN UP FOR DROP & GO

Residents will need to complete the Drop & Go Sign Up form in advance. The deadline to sign up is Friday, July 26th, 2024.

NOTE: Fraternity & Sorority and USA Central House on Stadium residents are not eligible for Drop & Go.

Residents who have signed up will receive instructions in their JagMail, which will be sent a few days prior to their appointment date.

▼   GUIDELINES FOR DROP & GO

Students will NOT be checked-in during Drop & Go and will not be able to spend the night in their space until after their Move-In Appointment during Traditional Move-In. This is an opportunity to unload belongings into your room only.

Residents should arrive during the scheduled time to their respective community desk and are required to return their room key back to their community desk before Drop & Go ends that day and must leave campus immediately after unloading their items in their room up. If their key is not returned to USA Housing staff at the end of the hour block, the resident will be officially ‘checked in’ by USA Housing and charged $20.00 for each night as an early arrival through Friday, August 16th.

  • Residents are NOT to unpack, make their bed, hang items, decorate, etc. - only the placing of items within a room will be allowed. Appliances and electronics should not be plugged in.

  • The resident must be present for Drop & Go - families/friends/etc. WILL NOT BE ABLE TO participate on behalf of the resident. 

  • All items brought by the resident must be in containers or boxes.

  • Residents may NOT bring food or other perishable items. Bottle water and other non-perishable items are permitted.

  • After Drop & Go, residents will not have access to their room/items until their Traditional Move-In Appointment. Residents are strongly encouraged to review that they have everything they need prior to leaving the room during Drop & Go. However, if you have left something you need, please call USA Housing at (251) 341-4663 to arrange a time for pick up.

  • University/USA Housing staff will not be available to help move in items. 

  • Residents are encouraged to bring their own carts/dollies to assist with moving items. USA Housing will have a limited number of rolling moving carts will be made available for usage on a first-come, first-serve bases.

  • Parking will be available without a permit in residence hall parking lots. However, please don't park in USA Housing, other University designated spots, or no parking zones. 

Please be aware that USA Housing staff may continue to enter rooms to complete work orders prior to Friday, August 16th, so the residence halls may not be fully ready to have residents occupy their assigned rooms during Drop & Go.

▼   DROP & GO ASSOCIATED FEE

Due to additional staffing and key access needs, there is a $20 non-refundable fee to participate in Drop & Go. This fee will be applied directly to your student account (PAWS) after you officially move-in.

 
IMPORTANT: Drop & Go participants are REQUIRED to also schedule a Traditional Move-In Appointment for either Friday, August 16th, or Saturday, August 17th, in their MyUSAHousing portal.
