According to the CDC, vapes or e-cigarettes are electronic devices that heat a liquid and produce an aerosol, or mix of small particles in the air. Users inhale e-cigarette aerosol into their lungs. Bystanders can also breathe in this aerosol when the user exhales it into the air. E-cigarette devices can be used to deliver marijuana and other drugs.

Vaping has not been proven to be a safe alternative for smoking cigarettes. Vapes have just as many dangerous chemicals and can cause just as many health problems. 
According to the American Heart Association, nicotine is a dangerous and highly addictive chemical. It can cause an increase in blood pressure, heart rate, flow of blood to the heart and a narrowing of the arteries (vessels that carry blood). Nicotine may also contribute to the hardening of the arterial walls, which in turn, may lead to a heart attack.
The liquid in a vape contains chemicals such as propylene glycol, glycerol, nicotine, formaldehyde and other chemicals.
Major risks of vaping include lung cancer, brain damage, mouth cancer, and heart issues.
