WAC Faculty Development

Prior to teaching writing-intensive courses, faculty members are required to become certified by participating in an online development workshop, which is administered by the University Writing Committee and the USA Writing Center. The workshop is available on USA Online, and faculty can complete the workshop at their convenience.  

As a part of the workshop, participants will be asked to complete several modules that contain video, audio, and written lectures with additional resources. After finishing the modules, participants will be quizzed over what they learned. Upon completing all modules and quizzes, participants will receive their certification. 

To join the faculty workshop, please follow the instructions below:

• Log into USA Online.
• Click on the "membership" tab on the left sidebar.
• Select the "joinable sites" tab at the top of the membership page.
• Scroll down to "WAC Faculty Workshop" and click join.
