USA CON Nursing Recruitment and Education to Expand Access to Culturally-aligned Healthcare (Nursing REEACH) ECHO®
Attention Healthcare Providers – If your patients benefit from comprehensive integrated healthcare, from local people they know and trust, then the USA CON REEACH ECHO® program can provide you with interprofessional telementoring.
No cost to participate | Free continuing education credits available to eligible participants.
Mission
In response to national health professional shortages, Colleges of Nursing, Medicine, and Allied Health around the country have increased enrollment. Often, nursing students emerge from nursing education programs inadequately prepared to understand the consequences of social determinants of health (SDOH) and the importance of providing safe and equitable care across diverse populations. Concurrently, the COVID-19 pandemic has decreased the volume of clinical training opportunities due to initial safety concerns and ongoing staff shortages. The REEACH nurse training program addresses the need for an enhanced didactic curriculum related to SDOH and health equity concepts for current students and through the USA CON REEACH ECHO® program outreaches to the community nurse and healthcare worker.
USA CON REEACH Nurse Training Program
REEACH is designed to provide longitudinal experiential training experiences for RN-to-BSN and APRN students in rural and underserved communities through clinical experiences on nurse-led mobile health units. For more information on this training program, visit the REEACH Program web page.
