What is REDCap?
REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is an easy-to-use, secure, web-based application for capturing, using, and sharing research or performance improvement data. Requirements for REDCap
REDCap is primarily intended for faculty and staff of the University of South Alabama (USA), the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute, the USA Health University Hospital and the USA Health Children's & Women's Hospital. Students can apply for access when affiliated with a sponsoring faculty member.
Personal Health Information:
The USA Campus REDCap allows for the entry of de-identified Personal Health Information (PHI). The USA Health System REDCap is hosted by health system servers and is approved for HIPAA compliant data capture including PHI.
Human Subjects Research:
If you are collecting data for the purpose of human subjects research, Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval is required. More information can be found at IRBNet.
