Biography
A lifelong Gulf Coast resident and weather enthusiast, Aimee Inscore Barron graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology and a certificate in Geographic Information Systems from the University of South Alabama in the Spring of 2021 and joined the Alabama Power-USA Coastal Weather Research Center as a full-time meteorologist in October of the same year. Additionally, Aimee earned an Associates of Arts degree and an Associates of Science degree from Coastal Alabama Community College in 2018 where she tutored students in math, statistics, and physics, and participated in the Pathway USA program. In her time as a student at the University of South Alabama, Aimee graduated magna cum laude and was invited to join Alpha Sigma Lambda, the Honor Society for Adult Learners in Continuing Higher Education.
As a meteorologist at the Coastal Weather Research Center, Aimee prepares the daily afternoon forecast, monitors weather activity on satellite and radar, and issues severe weather warnings to clients throughout Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. She also assists in the development of forecast product improvements to better serve client needs.
When not in the office, Aimee enjoys spending time with her daughter and dog, listening to music, experiencing the outdoors, and watching the sky.
