General Education Course Proposals
To request a change to a course to add or remove general education status, search and select the course from the Course Inventory Management screen and then choose “Edit Course”. From the editing screen, make sure to select “General Education Course Request” from the Change Type at the top of the screen. This will cause your proposal to be routed to the University General Education Committee in the approval workflow. Then complete the General Education Requirements section.
Approval is not automatic. Consult with the University General Education Committee Chair beforehand for details regarding the criteria for a course to be included in the general education curriculum, as well as for specifics concerning the cover letter and other materials.
