John E. Oakes, PhD
Biography
Dr. John E. Oakes, Professor Emeritus, received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Tennessee in 1975 and did his postdoctoral work at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He was awarded the Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease Research Career Development Award. He has served has a Member of The National Eye Institute Visual Sciences Study Section A and an Ad Hoc member of Visual Sciences Study Section C. He was also a primary reviewer for the Journal of Immunology as well as an Ad Hoc reviewer for several journals related to immunology, virology and ophthalmology.
Research
His research interest were concerned with ocular immunology and the host's immune response to ocular infections.
